Job summary

Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (Sub-Acute/Transitional) to join the night shift in our Transitional Care Center. This Full-Time role supports patient care under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, performing basic duties and ensuring safety.

Required: CPR Level C, CA CNA license, BLS, and at least 6 months of experience in skilled nursing or similar settings.

Qualifications

• Completion of CPR Level C training.
• California Nursing Assistant Certification required upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in a skilled nursing/medical-surgical or chronically ill patient setting.
• Preferred: 6 months of recent experience in acute/sub-acute or transitional care.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated routine patient care tasks and transportation under supervision.
• Conduct phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs and ongoing monitoring as assigned.
• Respond to patients and families with age-appropriate communication and care.
• Work under the direct supervision of a Charge Nurse to ensure safety and quality care.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (Sub-Acute/Transitional) role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs delegated routine and predictable patient care tasks/duties and works under the direct supervision of a Charge Nurse. These duties may include, but are not limited to phlebotomy, EKG's, vital signs, monitoring, basic patient care and transportation. Responds appropriately to patients and families with knowledge of age specific needs based on scope of service of unit/department where assigned (Young Adult through Geriatric).

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Satisfactory completion of a basic CPR course (Level C).
• Upon hire: California Nursing Assistant Certification License.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• 6 months of experience in a skilled nursing facility, medical/surgical setting, and/or working with chronically ill patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 months of recent experience in an acute, sub-acute, or transitional care setting.
