Job summary

Elm Crest in Harlan offers a CNA Trainee role with an $16.00 hourly rate during training. No prior experience or certification is needed as we cover CNA class and exam fees, and you will train alongside licensed nurses. After certification, you advance to CNA pay and title.

We value caregivers who engage with residents, follow care plans, and communicate clearly with staff. The position includes schedule rotations and opportunities to grow within a senior care community.

Qualifications

• Commitment to complete the training and pass both Iowa CNA exams within 4 months of hire
• Able to communicate clearly with residents and staff in English
• Able to work rotating weekends and occasional holidays
• Able to pass Iowa’s required background check for health care workers
• Experience caring for older adults preferred

Responsibilities

• Help residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and meals once you\'ve been trained, with guidance from our nursing staff
• Follow each resident\'s care plan
• Spend time with residents through activities and conversation
• Tell the nurse right away if something about a resident seems different
