Job summary

Elm Crest in Harlan, IA is seeking a CNA Trainee who will learn on the job while earning $16.00 per hour during training. No prior experience or certification is required, and we cover CNA class and exam fees.

As a CNA Trainee, you'll assist residents with daily activities, follow care plans, and engage with residents under nursing staff guidance. Training leads to certification, with pay increasing to $17.00 per hour once certified.

Qualifications

• Commitment to complete the training and pass Iowa CNA exams within 4 months of hire.
• Able to communicate clearly with residents and staff in English.
• Able to work rotating weekends and occasional holidays.
• Able to pass Iowa's required background check for health care workers.

Responsibilities

• Help residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and meals once you've been trained, with guidance from our nursing staff.
• Follow each resident's care plan.
• Spend time with residents through activities and conversation.
• Tell the nurse right away if something about a resident seems different.
