Job summary

Brookhaven Health Care Facility, part of The McGuire Group, seeks a CNA Trainee to embark on a supervised training program in East Patchogue, NY. The role combines hands-on learning with classroom instruction to develop essential nursing assistant skills in a skilled nursing setting.

You will train under licensed staff, participate in demonstrations, and gain competencies while contributing to resident care under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a high school equivalency program preferred
• Interest in pursuing a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
• Compassionate, dependable, and eager to learn
• Ability to follow directions and maintain professional conduct
• Must successfully meet all program and facility requirements for participation in CNA training

Responsibilities

• Participate in the facility’s Certified Nursing Assistant training program
• Observe and learn resident care techniques, safety procedures, and infection control practices
• Assist with resident care activities as permitted under training program guidelines and supervision
• Practice CNA skills through demonstrations, return demonstrations, and supervised clinical experiences
• Communicate resident observations and concerns to nursing staff and instructors
• Maintain resident dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and rights at all times
• Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and infection prevention protocols
• Attend all required classes, clinical training sessions, and educational activities
• Complete training assignments, skills evaluations, and competency requirements
• Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the training program
