Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Network in Richardson, TX is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care, follow care plans, and support nursing staff in delivering quality outcomes.

You will document observations, assist with transfers, maintain a safe environment, and participate in in-service training. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient independence, and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant is required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to lift, move, and transfer patients safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to assigned patients in accordance with care plans, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Document patient care activities and observations in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Promote and support patient independence and quality of life whenever possible.
• Communicate patient status updates and care concerns to the supervising Charge Nurse at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Observe patient conditions, contribute relevant clinical information, and document observations as required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Follow established procedures for safe lifting, positioning, transferring, and assisting patients.
• Ensure care-related equipment and mobile devices remain clean, functional, and properly charged, and report malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Participate in required in-service education, certification maintenance activities, and Patient Care Management Systems training.
• Perform incidental housekeeping or maintenance tasks necessary to support a clean and safe care environment.
• Serve as a team leader and role model while supporting abuse prevention, patient safety, and quality care initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
