Job summary

Horizon House, Inc. is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the Residential Group Home team at Bennett House in Wilmington, Delaware. The role is part-time, 16 hours per week, with 8-hour shifts including weekends, on-site at the Wilmington location.

The orientation and mileage reimbursement for attendance are provided. The CNA will provide direct care, promote a safe and recovery-oriented environment, and support participants toward independence in daily living and community

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and current Delaware CNA certification.
• Ability to respond to disruptive behavior.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Knowledge and ability to provide hands on assistance with activities of daily living.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision to participants in the residential group home setting.
• To ensure a safe, healthy, secure and recovery-oriented environment, which promotes growth and development.
• To facilitate participant growth and development toward independence in self-care, daily living, socialization and community integration.
• To participate in the development and implementation of the participants’ recovery plans.
