Job summary

Pruitthealth Corporation is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant with phlebotomy responsibilities to provide routine daily care to assigned patients per care plans. You will collect blood samples, process specimens, and ensure accurate documentation while upholding safety and infection control standards.

Under supervision, you will work with a nurse supervisor and collaborate with lab staff to ensure timely lab orders, processing, and communication with patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved phlebotomy training program.
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience with geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine nursing care per CNA job code 0101 and care plan.
• Manage lab data collection systems and properly order/cancel/charge tests.
• Correctly identify patients to prevent treatment errors.
• Perform venipuncture and blood collection from patients, especially older adults.
• Process and distribute specimens.
• Maintain infection control standards across duties and settings.
• Communicate with patients and callers in a courteous, prompt manner; document information accurately.
• Order and maintain laboratory supplies.
• Keep work areas clean and well-stocked.
• Handle information discreetly and protect confidentiality.
• Coordinate with lab manager on lab issues; work independently or in teams.
• Comply with OSHA, CLIA, and federal regulations.
• Maintain professional appearance and attitude.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
