Job summary

Cantex is seeking a dedicated Driver CNA to provide safe and timely transportation for patients and residents to medical appointments, treatments, and activities. You will support mobility needs, maintain vehicle readiness, and coordinate with healthcare staff to ensure compassionate, resident-centered service.

Applicants should hold a CNA and CPR certification, a valid driver's license with a clean record, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Experience transporting passengers preferred.
• Experience in healthcare transportation, patient transportation, senior transportation, shuttle services, or related driving positions preferred.
• Knowledge of defensive driving practices, vehicle safety procedures, and transportation regulations preferred.
• Ability to safely assist residents with mobility needs and transportation.

Responsibilities

• Transport Patients and residents safely and efficiently to appointments, treatments, activities, and approved destinations.
• Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, wheelchair access, and mobility needs while maintaining resident dignity and safety.
• Maintain vehicle condition, transportation records, mileage logs, inspection reports, and related documentation.
• Follow established safety procedures, infection control protocols, transportation policies, and traffic regulations.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, organized, fueled, and prepared for scheduled transportation assignments.
• Coordinate transportation schedules with facility staff, patients, residents, families, and healthcare providers.
• Assist with secure transportation of wheelchairs, walkers, and mobility equipment when applicable.
• Maintain professional communication and customer service when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and healthcare partners.
• Support resident-centered care by providing courteous, dependable, and compassionate transportation services.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
