Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, NC seeks a Nursing Assistant I for the General Medicine Step-down unit at Duke Regional Hospital. You will work with RN/LPN to provide direct patient care, assist with procedures, monitor vitals, and support a high-performing team.

This role requires current NA I certification in NC with BCLS, and participation in professional development. You will assist with admissions, discharges, and transports while upholding patient dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant I (NA I) certification in North Carolina.
• BCLS certification must be maintained by end of new hire orientation.
• Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant I with NC DHHS Division of Health Service Regulation with no substantiated findings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures and provide assistive care.
• Take and record vital signs, monitor I&O, and assist with daily activities.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and patient transportation as needed.
• Support RN/LPN in clinical duties and maintain patient comfort and safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies; document care in records.
