Job summary

Brethren Care Village in Ashland, OH is hiring CNAs and Resident Companions for full-time, part-time, and PRN positions with day, evening, and night shifts available. Start as a Resident Companion if not CNA certified; training provided.

Pay ranges: CNA $15–$16.80/hr; Resident Companion $14–$15.80/hr with shift differentials. Join a mission-driven, Christian-based senior living community serving since 1972, offering memory care, assisted living, and therapy services.

• Onsite presence required.
• Work permit required if under 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADL's) including dressing, bathing, mobility, dining and toileting.
• Laundry services, including delivering/picking up bed/bath linen and handling laundry chemicals.
• Health maintenance/monitoring: observe and report changes, conduct room checks and resident rounds.
• Support activity programs and assist with resident activities.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in mandatory inservices as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do as a CNA or Resident Companion:

• Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADL's):
  • Dressing/undressing: ensures that clothes are clean, appropriate in season, and presentable.
  • Bathing: provides assistance with personal hygiene (i.e. shaving, dental hygiene, nail care, hair care, etc.).
  • Mobility: uses various devices that enable resident to ambulate independently (i.e. cane, walker, wheelchair, crutch, etc.).
  • Dining: meal time reminders, sets up and cleans tables as needed, transports food from buffet to table, waits tables as needed, room service as needed.
  • Toileting: assists in transfer and dressing, assists in applying incontinence devices.
• Laundry services: delivers and picks up bed/bath linen; personal laundry possible. Will come in contact with a variety of laundry chemicals
• Health maintenance/monitoring: observes and reports physical/mental changes to Manager or designated nursing staff; conducts room checks and resident rounds; monitors for safety hazards; reports resident related incidents/accidents.
• Activity Program: encourages and reminds resident of scheduled programs. Assists with activities as needed.
• Emergency Preparedness: responds to and acts appropriately in emergency/disaster situations or drillsAttends mandatory inservices as directed plus enough additional inservices to meet requirements for CNA.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):

• Must be registered as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Work permit required if under 18 years of age.
• Onsite presence required.

Requirements - Resident Companion:

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
• Onsite presence required.
