OrthoIndy Hospital in Greenwood, IN is seeking a Nursing Technician for the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) on a PRN basis. The role works under the RN to provide patient care, monitor vitals, assist with procedures, and ensure timely transport and documentation.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, valid CNA license or nursing student with clinical rotations, and BLS certification. The position emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and a commitment to great care across our orthopedic

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required; specialty training beyond high school preferred.
• Valid CNA license and patient care experience required; OR nursing student with one semester of completed clinical rotations required; OR a minimum of 1-2 years direct patient care experience within a hospital setting and willingness to earn CNA within six months of hire date.
• BLS certification required

Responsabilidades

• Obtains and reports vital signs and fluid intake and output.
• Discontinues IV lines and urinary catheters as directed by the RN and documents removal.
• Assists in cleaning equipment, furniture, and surfaces using aseptic technique.
• Restocks linens and supplies on the unit; orders linen and café items as needed.
• Performs phlebotomy as directed by the RN.
• Performs urine pregnancy tests and blood sugars per RN instructions.
• Provides skin care as directed by the RN.
• Reinforces patient and family education as directed by the RN.
• Performs EKGs and bladder scans as directed by the RN.
• Transports patients to other units upon dismissal as necessary.
• Performs cast cutting, Ted Hose measurement and application.
