Job summary

Sanford Health in Marshfield, WI is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our inpatient team. A Nursing Assistant provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), helping the unit run smoothly.

A GED is preferred; CNA is preferred. If working in ND, must be on the North Dakota Nurse Aide Registry within four months; if WI, must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry or be a student

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.
• If working in ND, must be on the North Dakota Nurse Aide Registry within four months from date of initial employment.
• If working in Wisconsin, must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with current work eligibility or be a student nurse with 16 hours of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with basic health care needs including bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating, while supporting emotional and spiritual needs
• Record vital statistics, blood glucose levels, and other basic health information
• Assist with patient transfers and ambulation
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare
• Prepare and clean patient treatment areas, living areas, and medical equipment
• Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training/competency validation or a maximum of four months from the date of initial employment.

If working in Wisconsin, must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with current work eligibility or a student nurse, currently enrolled at a school approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing, who has completed a basic nursing course and 16 hours of clinical experience.
