Job summary

Saint Elizabeth Community is seeking a CNA/Medication Aide to provide compassionate care in Providence, RI. The role includes administering medications, following care plans, and maintaining accurate records in a non-profit hospital-like setting.

Shifts include Full Time nights, with options for Days, Evenings, and Every Other Weekend. Benefits cover health insurance, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement and career advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Rhode Island medications aide license required.
• Rhode Island nursing assistant license required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as CNA/Medication Aide.
• Must be able to walk, stand, sit and bend intermittently.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professionalism with residents, family and staff.
• Comply with policies and procedures.
• Administer medications as ordered and document.
• Review physician orders for accuracy and report discrepancies.
• Complete required incident reports and communicate with care team.
• Encourage resident participation in activities and assist as needed.
• Supervise unit cleanliness and care stations.

CNA/Medication Aide

Saint Elizabeth Assisted Living | Providence, RI | Conveniently located on the bus line!

Full Time | Nights (11pm - 7am)

Part Time | Days (7am-3pm) | Every Other Weekend Only!

Per Diem | Evenings (3pm - 11pm)

Pay: $20.08 - $22.26/hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities of a CNA/Medication Aide

• Maintain consistent level of professionalism with residents, family members and staff.
• Comply with all administrative and nursing policies and procedures.
• Make accurate decisions and take appropriate actions especially with regard to changes in resident physical, mental or emotional status.
• Carry out all requests made by the Director of Resident Care, Nurse Manager or Administrator.
• Keep the Director of Resident Care or Administrator informed of resident status and other related matters.
• Follow resident service plans.
• Attend all nursing staff meetings and in-services.
• Make frequent or as needed checks of resident apartments to assure safety and well being of the residents.
• Administer medications to the residents as ordered and document accordingly.
• Complete daily communication sheet on each resident for his/her shift as needed.
• Review medication sheets and physicians' orders for accuracy. Report any inaccuracies noted to the Nurse Manager or Director of Resident Care.
• Complete non sterile treatments as ordered and as needed.
• Maintain resident records.
• Complete required incident reports and notify family members, physicians, and Nurse Manager/Director of Resident Care.
• Encourage residents' participation in activities and assist in taking to activities as needed.
• Supervise general cleanliness of the unit and care stations.
• Complete resident care assignment as directed.

Qualifications for a CNA/Medication Aide

• Licenses issued by the State of Rhode Island as a medication aide and as a nursing assistant.
• At least one year of experience required
• Ability to walk, stand, sit and bend intermittently.
• Must be able to lift in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
• Maintain current CPR certification.
