JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Support Staff position is responsible for supporting patients care under the direct supervision of a health care provider along with helping the management of patient throughput

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Work with members of the health care team to coordinate patient care services including preparation of patients for examination or treatment gathering of information such as reason for visit vital signs and related patient information Ensure accurate documentation is maintained relay instructions to patients and help ensure timely patient flowPerform vital signs height weight and screening procedures Document findings in the electronic medical recordCollect andor assist providers in collection of specimens as required using appropriate protocols Complete requisitions label and route specimens according to clinic protocolAdhere to infection control standards including but not limited to hand hygiene use of PPE isolation of patient with known infectious disease and equipment disinfectionsterilizationAssist with special procedures and examinations following appropriate protocols such as infection control universal protocol and patient identificationMaintain orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms; stock assigned roomscupboards and ensure par levels of supplies are maintained Check and complete required logs and equipment including refrigerator logsAssist with communication to patients both in person and via phone to gather data

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
