Job summary

The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Medication Tech to provide direct care under a personalized medication plan and assist with self-administration for residents. Qualifications

• Current CPR certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with older adults.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsible assistance of medication to residents according to physician order.
• May receive supply of ordered medications and apportion, mix, or assemble drugs for administration to resident.
• Takes vital signs or observes resident to detect response to medications and notifies staff of reactions.
• Document medications given onto MAR as they are administered and reasons drugs are not administered.
• Know and adhere to the five rights of safe medication administration.
• Ensure prescription label and storage procedures are followed.
• Count narcotics and other controlled drugs at end of each shift.
• Order medications to ensure adequate supply.
• Observe residents' daily living activities and communicate needs or issues to the care team.
• Complete Incident Reports for changes in condition or incidents.
