Job summary

McPherson Hospital, Inc. is seeking a compassionate CNA to provide patient-centered care in a relationship-based environment on Med/Surg units.

You will work closely with registered nurses to support daily patient needs, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and comfort. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, distributing meals, ensuring accurate input/output, maintaining a safe and respectful patient environment, and promptly responding to call lights.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent is required.
• Formal CNA training completed or in progress is preferred.
• CNA license required or in process; BLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtains vital signs to monitor patient stability.
• Distributes meals and records intake/output for nutrition balance.
• Provides hygiene and grooming to maintain comfort and dignity.
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment to promote healing.
• Responds promptly to call lights and coordinates care as needed.
• Completes effective communication with nursing staff for coordinated care.

CNA Shift Availability:

• PRN (as needed)

CNA Essential Accountabilities:

• Obtains vital signs to ensure stability of patients.
• Distributes meals and documents patient consumption including input and output to ensure nutrition is offered and balance of fluid levels is recorded.
• Administers and provides appropriate personal hygiene including bathing, dressing, and grooming to establish a clean, living environment and encourage self-esteem.
• Establishes a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment to promote patient healing.
• Responds quickly to call lights to determine necessary action and recruits help if needed to deliver prompt care for patient comfort and to address patient needs.
• Communicates with the nursing staff to develop positive interactions and a pleasant coordination of care.

CNA Organization Accountabilities:

• Completion of HealthStream’s education by designated due date.
• Attends required staff/department/organization’s meetings.

CNA Qualifications:

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) may include specialized or vocational courses.
• Formal training for certified nurse aide course

Licensure/Certifications:

• CNA License
• BLS within 6 months of hiring
