Job summary

Hospice of the Piedmont, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our patient care team on a PRN basis.

The role requires a minimum of 2 shifts in a 4-week period (Monday–Sunday, anytime) to support comfort, hygiene, and safety for patients and their families in a sensitive end-of-life setting. You will take vitals, assist with bathing and mouthcare, reposition every 4 hours, help with meals, record intake/output, restock supplies, and document all care provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or better.
• Satisfactory completion of an approved nurse aide training and competency evaluation program.
• One year of nurse aide experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals once daily per patient.
• Assist with patient hygiene and mouthcare.
• Reposition patients every 4 hours or per family request.
• Assist with meal trays and feeding.
• Record intake and output accurately.
• Empty trash and restock patient rooms with supplies.
• Document activities and care provided.
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly.
• Participate in team conferences, shift reports, and trainings.
• Care for 4–6 patients per CNA per day.

Job description

Schedule: PRN, minimum requirement of 2 shifts in a 4-week period (Monday-Sunday, anytime)

This position carries out duties assigned by the RN in order to increase the level of patient comfort, maintain good personal hygiene and maintain a safe environment for the patient/family/caregiver.

Here are the essential duties day to day:

• Take vitals once a day per patient
• Patient Hygiene (bathe, mouthcare, keep patient dry, and more)
• Reposition patients every 4 hours, or based on family's request
• Help with passing out trays for meals
• Recording intake and output
• Empty trash cans and restock patient rooms with supplies
• Documenting everything you have done
• Reports changes in patient’s condition, concerns about patient and/or family to appropriate nursing staff in a timely fashion.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team conferences, shift report, staff training, agency and departmental meetings and other related activities.
• Up to 4-6 patients a day per CNA
