Job summary

Advocate Health in Oshkosh, WI is hiring a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Med/Surg unit. Day shift, part-time 24 hours per week, self scheduling, every third weekend, holidays. You will support RNs with daily patient care and document in the EMR.

The role requires BLS and a Nurse Aide in good standing. You will assist with baths, feeding, mobility, vital signs, specimen collection, and safety. The hospital offers comprehensive benefits and ongoing education opportunities.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Certification Addendum and ongoing education requirements per hospital policy.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, and ambulation.
• Measures and documents vitals and intake/output; records in EMR.
• Performs purposeful rounding and communicates observations to RN.
• Participates in admission, transfer, and discharge processes with proper room setup.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Runs errands and maintains stock for nursing area; cleans equipment.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties; assists with nutrition and diet planning.
• Maintains skin integrity and uses appropriate supplies for patients.
• Under RN direction, may remove IVs, provide post-mortem care, and bladder scans.
• Follows infection prevention practices and proper sterile technique.
