Job summary

North Valley Hospital District in Washington state is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant / Health Unit Secretary to provide hands-on patient care and essential administrative support in the Acute Care and Emergency Departments.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, accurate documentation in the EMR, and collaboration with nursing staff, with training participation and CQI initiatives encouraged. This position is FT non-exempt with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Course.
• Current Washington State CNA certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• 6 months CNA experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (feeding, dressing, grooming, hygiene, mobility).
• Take and record vital signs and monitor intake/output.
• Report changes in patient status to the nurse promptly.
• Transport patients and assist with admissions, discharges, and records in the EMR.
• Conduct frequent patient checks and maintain safety and comfort.
