Job summary

Midwest Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct and indirect resident care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The role requires adherence to community and nursing policies, confidentiality, and teamwork across departments.

Responsibilities include assisting in admissions, daily hygiene, mobility, feeding, and documenting care while reporting changes to the Charge Nurse. Flexibility to work varied hours is expected, with an emphasis on resident dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CNA certification in good standing with the State.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays when necessary.
• Must be able to assist in evacuation during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Comply with policies and procedures of the community and nursing department.
• Report any abuse/neglect to the Executive Director, RCC or Unit Manager promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and family information.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with coworkers and departments.
• Assist in admission and discharge of residents.
• Assist with daily oral care, bathing, and personal hygiene.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning using gait belts as needed.
• Assist with meals, feeding when required, and tray removal.
• Document care and services provided and report changes to the Charge Nurse.
