Job summary

Hospice of Marion County, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a compassionate CNA Field to work in Ocala providing end-of-life care with a mission-driven team. The role includes 4 days, 10am-8pm shifts with rotating weekends.

The position emphasizes hands-on patient care, infection prevention, and collaboration with the Hospice team and families. BLS CPR certification and Florida CNA license are required. Email HRTalentAcquisition@EmpathHealth.org for inquiries.

  • Valid Florida Board of Nursing CNA certification.

  • Reinforce dressings and adhere to infection control procedures.
  • Perform light housekeeping and supply replenishment in patient areas.
  • Educate families and caregivers on care needs and disease processes.

Job description

Hospice of Marion County, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated CNA Field to work with us in Ocala while providing exceptional care. Since 1983, Hospice of Marion County has been honored to serve families across Ocala and Marion County with compassionate, expert end-of-life care. As part of Empath Health, we help neighbors with advanced illness live as comfortably and meaningfully as possible, while supporting their families and caregivers with respect, guidance, and dignity. Schedule: 4 days, 10am-8pm with rotating weekends

What You'll Do
  • Deliver physical care to patients, including bathing, changing linens, feeding, assisting with ambulation and transfers, and supporting range-of-motion exercises and positioning.
  • Reinforce dressings as needed and adhere to infection control procedures and Standard Precautions against Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties in patient areas, including laundry, trash disposal, meal preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, disinfecting equipment, and replenishing supplies.
  • Collaborate with other Hospice team members to educate primary caregivers and families regarding physical care, disease processes, and emotional support for patients.

What You'll Need
  • Experience: Six months of experience as a CNA in a hospital or long-term care skilled nursing facility preferred. A letter of recommendation from an instructor may be requested for candidates with no prior job experience.
  • Licensure: Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).Valid Florida State Driver's License Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certification.
