Job summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at The Manor of Novi cares for residents under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor residents, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment per regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires basic computer skills.
• Meets state and federal background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight and intake/output.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers and positioning using proper body mechanics and lift equipment.
• Respond to call lights and resident needs; report observations to licensed staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation per facility procedures.
• Follow infection control and universal precautions at all times.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
• Provide postmortem care as required.
• Make rounds on assigned residents every two hours.
• Observe residents' skin and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with transporting residents to activities.
• Demonstrate effective communication with residents with dementia.
