Job summary

Carmel Valley Manor is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Driver/Chauffeur to provide safe transportation for residents and assist with daily care. This full-time role blends driving responsibilities with resident support to ensure dignity, comfort, and safety during medical appointments and community outings.

The position requires CNA experience, compassion, and reliable teamwork with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Experience transporting elderly residents or mobility-impaired individuals.
• Experience in a senior living community, skilled nursing facility, or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of resident safety procedures, infection control practices, and emergency response protocols.
• Demonstrates patience, compassion, tact, and professionalism.
• Communicates effectively with residents, family members, staff, and outside providers.
• Works cooperatively with multiple departments.
• Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Willingly participates in additional training and professional development.
• Demonstrates a commitment to resident-centered care and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident assistance within the authorized scope of CNA practice and in accordance with established care plans and nursing procedures.
• Assist residents with safe transfers, positioning, and mobility using approved techniques and equipment.
• Observe residents for signs of discomfort, weakness, changes in mobility, or other changes in condition and report concerns promptly to licensed nursing personnel.
• Provide reassurance, emotional support, and respectful assistance to residents experiencing physical or cognitive limitations.
• Follow established infection prevention and control procedures, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain resident privacy, confidentiality, dignity, and independence while providing care.
• Document care provided and report relevant observations according to established procedures.
• Report accidents, injuries, incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately to the appropriate supervisor or licensed nursing staff.
• Participate in required CNA continuing education, in-service training, and competency evaluations.
• Perform additional CNA duties when appropriately assigned, within the employee's certification, demonstrated competency, and applicable supervision requirements.
