Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is hiring a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse, assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic health care tasks while promoting comfort and safety for residents.

The role requires CNA certification or active enrollment, a high school diploma or GED, and a commitment to infection control and quality care.

Qualifications

• Must have CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or be enrolled in a program to obtain certification within four months.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding; monitor and record vital signs.
• Support transfer, mobility, and range-of-motion exercises using proper techniques.
• Document resident interactions and communicate concerns to the charge nurse.
• Participate in wellness, recreational activities and maintain infection control practices.
