Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance in a Canistota, SD long-term care facility. The role reports to a registered nurse and requires adherence to infection control policies and proper PPE use.

Responsibilities include assisting with transfers, meals, vital signs, and documentation, while supporting wellness activities and ensuring a safe, compassionate environment for residents.

Qualifications

• CNA certification is required by the State Board of Nursing or in process of becoming certified.
• Experience in long-term care is preferred.
• Annual continuing education: minimum 12 hours and facility-specific competency testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with transferring, repositioning, and mobility using proper techniques and equipment.
• Assist residents with meals and dining to create a positive dining experience.
• Document resident interactions, care outcomes, and any changes in condition.
• Communicate changes to the charge nurse and participate in wellness/recreational programs.
