Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the certification board or a graduate of a state approved CNA training program and passed a state approved competency examination within 120 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care as applicable, oral hygiene and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, percentage of meal consumed intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and position using proper body mechanics and lift equipment as applicable.
• Respond promptly to call lights, resident needs, and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity, while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and in accordance with facility procedures.
• Follow infection control, safety, and universal precaution guidelines at all times.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive living environment.
• Maintains a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
• Make routine rounds on each assigned resident every two hours.
• Provide skin care and observe residents’ skin when giving care and report changes to licensed nurse.
• Modify own behavior in response to residents’ behaviors.
• Be aware of developmental tasks associated with the aging process.
• Contributes to the residents’ assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the plan of care.
