Job summary

Ciena Healthcare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct resident care at our West Bloomfield facility. The role entails assisting with ADLs, vital signs, mobility, and safety, under supervision of licensed nursing staff.

Responsibilities include timely documentation, infection control, and compassionate support to residents, with rounds every two hours and observation of residents' skin and overall condition. Must have CNA certification and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Computer skills are required.
• Meets all state and federal criminal background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, care as applicable, oral hygiene and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight and intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and position using proper body mechanics and lift equipment.
• Respond promptly to call lights and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity, while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility procedures.
• Follow infection control and universal precautions at all times.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
• Provide postmortem care.
• Make routine rounds on each assigned resident every two hours.
• Observe skin and report changes to licensed nurse.

The Certified Nursing Assistant cares for residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse. This role assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensures a safe and comfortable environment, and supports licensed nursing staff in delivering individualized care in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Graduate/GED

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the certification board or is a graduate of a state approved nursing assistant training program and passed a state approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment; name entered into state nurse aide registry.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Computer skills are required.
