Job summary

Munson Healthcare in Michigan is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide essential supportive care to residents under the supervision of nursing staff. The role includes ADL assistance, mobility support, meal service coordination, and careful documentation of patient status.

Responsibilities require empathy, teamwork, and adherence to care plans, with CPR/BLS certification and a valid Michigan CNA license.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the State of Michigan, or completion of a State-approved training program within 1 month of hire and certification acquired within 4 months of hire as required by the state.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Must have no disciplinary action in effect against certification.
• Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. Flu vaccine required during the season or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Provides supportive services to nurse(s) and other staff as needed and performs duties as assigned.
• Assists resident with activities of daily living per care plans.
• Assists resident with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting.
• Coordinates dining room services at assigned mealtimes, including setup, cleanup, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake.
• Delivers nutritional supplements and documents intake.
• Assists with weighing residents and records weight; reports changes to nurse and supervisor.
• Assists with monitoring skin condition and reports issues to nurse and supervisor.
• Assists nursing staff in toileting program activities.
• Completes flow sheets daily and documents resident progress as directed.
• Keeps nurse and supervisor informed of factors affecting performance.
• Reports changes in a resident's condition to the nurse and supervisor.
