Job summary

Hanover IL Operations LLC in Virginia Beach is seeking a compassionate CNA/Direct Care Giver to provide quality care and assist residents with daily living activities, encouraging independence and participation in community events. The role requires following policies, reporting incidents, maintaining confidentiality, and participating in activity planning.

A valid CNA license, good communication, physical stamina, and flexibility including weekends are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess current CNA license from the State and be in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Effective communication verbally and in writing is required.
• Organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Contribute to nursing team and follow supervisor instructions.
• Be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
• Wear designated uniform during working hours, including name badge and a smile.
• CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Represent the community positively and professionally.
• Attend all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Maintain working knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Report incidents and document care concerns.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and emergencies.
• Remain calm during emergencies.
• Plan and conduct resident activity programs.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assist residents to dining and activities.
• Check on residents and meals/attendance.
• Report illness or concerns to appropriate staff and document.
• Communicate status and appointments to team.
• Support move-in transitions and provide emotional support.
• Document changes and notify family as directed.
