Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant. The role includes direct patient care, monitoring and documenting vitals, assisting with daily activities, and maintaining a clean care environment.

You will collaborate with nurses and care teams while supporting safety and infection control standards. Qualified candidates will have CNA certification, Heartsaver, and 1 year of long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Nurse’s Aide certification required.
• Heart Saver certification required.
• 1 year of Nurse's Aide experience preferred.
• Fluent English speaking/writing as required by the position.
• High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care aligned with patient growth and development for the appropriate age group.
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, emotional, behavioral, and social well-being.
• Take and record vital signs and report deviations to nurse.
• Obtain specimens as assigned (e.g., urine, stool, sputum).
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, ambulation).
• Record oral intake and urinary output; perform assigned treatments.
• Communicate with nursing staff regarding patient needs and requests.
• Orient patients to environment and develop rapport with patients and families.
