Job summary

Accolade Healthcare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to perform fundamental nursing tasks under the supervision of an LPN or RN. The role focuses on providing personal care and restorative procedures to residents, helping them achieve greater independence and quality of life.

The CNA will work as a key member of the nursing team, ensuring high-quality care while adhering to policies and participating in team collaboration with nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Nurse aide training certificate approved by the Illinois Board/IDPR.
• Active CNA registry listing or eligibility in Illinois.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle emotionally and physically demanding situations professionally.
• Competence in using technical equipment and learning new materials quickly.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks and assist residents with daily living activities.
• Support residents in achieving independence in self-care activities.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and regulations.
• Collaborate with Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Administrator and team members.
• Demonstrate patience, understanding and tact with residents, families, and staff.
• Manage census changes and challenging residents calmly and professionally.
• Follow verbal and written communications in English.
• Adapt to interruptions and learn to operate technical materials and equipment.
• Enter and retrieve information using computer systems.
• Adhere to facility policies, nursing procedures and care standards.
• Organize a flexible schedule to coordinate duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
