Providence Public Schools District in Providence, RI seeks a Child Support Assistant (1:2) for a one-year position to support students with diverse needs in 1:1 or 1:2 settings and assist with daily living tasks under nurse/teacher supervision.

The role requires an active CNA license and candidates may have an Associate’s degree, 48 college credits, or a ParaPro score; training in teacher assistant programs is preferred. Reports to the Principal and collaborates with health staff and teachers.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree required or 48 college credits or passing score on ParaPro test.
RIDE Certification: Teacher Assistant Training Program Certificate and CNA license.
Evidence of licensure or credentialing in health-related support roles.

Responsibilities

Participate in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
Assist with supervision of pupils in classroom, corridors, yards, and on field trips.
Assist students with toileting, dressing, feeding, positioning and self-care.
Provide support to students with health, hygiene and personal care needs under supervision.
Follow care plans and protocols to ensure student well-being and access to learning.
Serve as information resource for substitute teachers.
