Job summary

Adoration Health is seeking a compassionate Hospice CNA to join our Pittsburgh, PA team. You will provide 1:1 personal care, monitor patient condition, and support families in a hospice setting. This role offers a supportive environment with team collaboration and opportunities for growth.

Eligible applicants should have at least six months of personal care experience, CPR certification, and be at least 18 years old. A state-approved training program (75 hours) is required before practice.

Qualifications

• Meet the state training requirements.
• Minimum 6 months of personal care experience.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• Complete at least 75 hours of classroom and supervised training.
• Maintain current CPR certification.
• Read and follow written care instructions.
• Understand hospice philosophy and provide specialized care.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Able to handle death and dying.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 personal care (bathing, dressing, mobility).
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, ROM, and safe equipment.
• Assist with medication administration as per state rules.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
• Perform light housekeeping and meal assistance.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Collaborate with hospice interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

As a Hospice CNA You will:

• Personal Care: Help with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and repositioning

• Monitor & Report: Observe and report changes in the patient’s condition

• Mobility: Assist with ambulation, transfers, ROM exercises and safe equipment use

• Medication Assistance: Help with self-administered medications per state regulations

• Emotional Support: Offer companionship and comfort to patients and families.

• Light Housekeeping: Change linens, assist with meals, and maintain a clean space.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation

• Team Participation: Collaborate with hospice interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Meet the training requirements of the state of practice

• Minimum of six months experience including providing personal care

• Must be 18+ years of age

• Complete a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training, 16 of the 75 hours of classroom must be complete prior to a mandatory 16 hours of practical training

• Possess and maintain current CPR certification

• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given

• Understands hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill

• Ability to work with little direct supervision

• Ability to handle death/dying

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Good Organizational Skills
