Job summary

Pivotal Health Care's Prairie Vista Village in Altoona, IA seeks a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our compassionate team. You will provide direct, hands-on resident care in a nursing home setting, supporting daily living activities and upholding quality of life.

We offer full-time positions (30+ hours per week), evening shifts 2pm-10:30pm, competitive wages, and a benefits package including health/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and education support.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved CNA training program and passed competency examinations.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required to work in this facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on care to residents to support physical, mental and emotional well-being.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living as outlined in the care plan.
• Complete documentation of resident care as assigned and maintain care records.
• Follow safety policies and infection control guidelines to ensure resident safety.
• Attend facility meetings and participate in in-service training programs as assigned.
• Observe residents’ rights including privacy and dignity and promote positive relations.

Shifts: In general we offer 8 hour shifts for our CNA positions. We have openings for full-time (30+ hours weekly) positions.

Role

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team! The Certified Nurse Assistant is responsible to provide direct, hands‑on care to residents in a nursing home environment to ensure residents attain or maintain the highest possible physical, mental and emotional well-being possible.

Responsibilities

• Follows and upholds The Community’s philosophy and goal to maintain, improve and/or enhance each resident’s quality of care and quality of life.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living as outlined in care plan.
• Completes documentation of resident care as assigned.
• Follows safety policies in performing nursing care, assuring resident safety.
• Follows and upholds policies and procedures of The Community.
• Follows rules outlined in the Community’s employee handbook.
• Attends and participates in facility meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
• Follows infection control guidelines.
• Reports changes in resident’s condition immediately to the Charge Nurse
• Observes residents’ rights including, but not limited to, privacy, dignity, etc.
• Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.

Qualifications

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) must have completed an approved training program and passed competency examinations in clinical skills and written knowledge in accordance with statutory requirements for Certified Nurse Assistant.
