Job summary

Usd458 is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant to support health services for students. The role requires medical certification, CPR, and up to one year of experience, with the ability to operate a Hoyer lift for transfers.

The CNA will assist with mobility, toileting, and ensuring a safe, sanitary clinic environment. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential in this on-site position.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Reports to: Administrator on site

Position Summary: The CNA provides first aid and medications in addressing the health needs of students; assists students who require support with toileting; provides support or assistance in providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile or injured students.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant with up to one year of applicable experience
• The ability to use a Hoyer lift to assist students with transferring.
• CPR certification is required.

Essential Functions:

• Assist students with mobility needs with lunch, toileting, and general accessibility to the school environment.
• Cleans clinic areas (e.g. sinks, counters, ) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary environment.
• Maintains inventory of supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability as needed.
• Notifies nurse and/or principal of activities and/or incidents (e.g. suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining child's personal safety, a positive home environment and adhering to state, district and/or school policies.
• Participates in meetings, workshops and professional development for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information, developing knowledge required to perform job functions and meet district
• Employ good communication and interpersonal skills, cultural competency/sensitivity, tactful language, and empathetic interviewing skills to build rapport and maintain trust with students and staff of varied backgrounds.
• Assure confidentiality and extend efforts to locate and communicate with staff and students in a manner that preserves the confidentiality and privacy of all involved.
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements: Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in the work environment. Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job is required.

• Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions. 2. Must have physical stamina to maintain job responsibilities. 3. Requires occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and turning.
