Job summary

Sequim Bay Post Acute in Sequim, WA is seeking an entry-level Hospitality Aide to assist with residents’ personal needs, safety and comfort under supervision of licensed nurses and a Unit Manager.

Your responsibilities include helping with daily living activities, making beds, delivering meals, answering call lights promptly and keeping areas clean and safe while following center policies. A High School diploma is required and prior long-term care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Ability to relate positively and effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with resident care needs and comforts including making beds (occupied and unoccupied).
  • Check residents frequently to ensure personal care needs are met.
  • Answer all call lights promptly and respond professionally.
  • Perform food service tasks such as serving meals and refilling water pitchers.
  • Keep nursing and resident areas neat, sanitary and orderly.
  • Record charges for supplies and participate in IPOC processes.
  • Follow work assignments, schedules and center policies.
  • Attend in-service training and meetings as directed.
  • Treat all residents, visitors and staff with courtesy and respect.
  • Follow center dress and hygiene policies and work overtime as needed.

Job Details: Level: Entry, Location: Sequim, WA 98382, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: $17.50 - $19.00 Hourly.

Hospitality Aide
General Summary

Under the supervision of the assigned LPN, RN or Unit Manager RN, provides activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, safety and comfort of residents/patients as assigned. Assists in providing a positive physical, social and psychological environment. Follows all center policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assist with resident/patient care needs and comforts including:
  • Makes both occupied and unoccupied beds (as assigned)
  • Checks residents/patients frequently to assure that their personal care needs are met
  • Answers all call lights promptly
  • Performs food service functions such as serving food trays, between‑meal snacks, and keeping water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water on each shift
  • Assists with keeping nursing and resident/patient care area neat, sanitary, and orderly
  • Appropriately records charges for supplies
  • Participates in the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care (“IPOC”) process as assigned
  • Follows work assignments and schedules
  • Complies with laws and regulations applicable to position and acts in accordance with Center’s Compliance Program
  • Attends and participates in in‑service training, performance improvement (PI) committees and other meetings as scheduled and directed
  • Treats all residents, visitors, and staff with courtesy
  • Follows center dress and hygiene policies
  • Works overtime, holidays and weekends as scheduled
  • Performs other duties as directed by center management
Physical Demands

Significant physical activities including standing, lifting (up to 60 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping, twisting, pushing and pulling. Tasks marked with an asterisk (*) require these activities. Lifting and/or transferring residents may require a lifting device or assistance of other staff.

Environmental Conditions

Inside work, normal temperatures, some noise, occasional fumes/odors, chemical exposure, potential exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior experience working in a long‑term care setting is a plus
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other center staff
  • Special interest and a positive attitude toward working with long‑term care residents and the elderly
  • Basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications
