Responsibilities:

A Resident Assistant provides direct resident care according to each resident's person-centered Plan of Care (POC), encouraging residents to maintain or attain their highest physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Typical duties include:

1. Providing direct resident care (grooming, bathing, dressing, toileting, incontinent care, mobility, transferring, oral care, etc.)
2. Administering medications
3. Taking vital signs, weights, and collecting specimens
4. Documenting information or observations in the electronic health record
5. Assisting with meals (delivering meals or supporting nutritional intake)
6. Updating nurses with physical and social observations
7. Engaging residents through socializing and participating in activities during meals or group events

Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and support up to 100 pounds
• Three or more months of work experience with seniors (preferred)
• Prior completion of CBRF training (preferred)
