Job summary

Empath Health is seeking a caring CNA to support Hospice House in Ocala and Summerfield. The role involves 12-hour shifts, with weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday nights), part-time 24 hours weekly, and a focus on compassionate, full-life care.

The candidate will assist with hygiene, feeding, grooming, bathing, and basic care tasks, while contributing to a safe, respectful environment for patients and families during end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• One to three years of training and/or experience required.
• One year of experience in a long-term care facility strongly preferred.
• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License (optional for transportation between facilities).
• Must be able to be flexible with shifts and alternate facility reassignment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene and promote a clean, safe environment.
• Assist with feeding and preparation of regular or special diets as directed.
• Shampoo hair and perform basic grooming as requested.
• Provide baths or showers and assist with oral hygiene.
• Assist with bed linens, housekeeping, laundry, and other duties as needed.

When this occurs, the colleague is responsible for their own transportation to the alternate facility and at their expense.
