Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Current CNA Certification in the State of Idaho.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Two years of education in the behavioral health sciences or experience in the behavioral health field is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• The CNA/Behavioral Health Technician performs selected patient care activities and is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, providing support for the patient's therapeutic treatment plan.
• Observes and records patient information pertinent to the treatment plan, and reports this information to the staff RN and other members of the treatment team.
• Maintaining safety checks and assessments of the individual patients and the Behavioral Health environment.
• Assists patients with physical and emotional needs, deals with patient emergencies, and works as a member of a clinical team.
• Hands-on patient care may include: physical care related to activities of daily living, emotional support, limit setting, verbal and physical redirection, nutritional support, and support of the general patient milieu.
