Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID is seeking a part-time CNA/Behavioral Health Technician for day shift to support the treatment team and patient care plans. The role includes observing and recording patient information, maintaining safety in the Behavioral Health environment, and assisting with daily living activities as part of a multidisciplinary team.

A current Idaho CNA and BLS are required, with training within 14 days.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• Current CNA Certification in the State of Idaho.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• The CNA/Behavioral Health Technician performs selected patient care activities and is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, providing support for the patient’s therapeutic treatment plan.
• Observes and records patient information pertinent to the treatment plan, and reports this information to the staff RN and other members of the treatment team.
• Maintaining safety checks and assessments of the individual patients and the Behavioral Health environment.
• Assists patients with physical and emotional needs, deals with patient emergencies, and works as a member of a clinical team.
• Hands-on patient care may include: physical care related to activities of daily living, emotional support, limit setting, verbal and physical redirection, nutritional support, and support of the general patient milieu.
