Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in patient care. Primary duties include taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene, and maintaining a clean unit environment.

Responsibilities also include stocking supplies, operating hospital equipment, and performing clerical tasks as needed. Candidates should have CNA certification or be enrolled in a nursing program, with BLS and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or enrolled in accredited nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical semester
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Background knowledge of patient care in an acute setting beneficial
• Strong customer service and therapeutic communication skills
• Clear English written and verbal communication; basic medical terminology understood

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs and document facts.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Stock unit supplies and maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
• Operate hospital equipment as directed and support clinical staff.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and other duties as assigned.
