Solaris HealthCare Merritt Island is hiring an Activities Assistant CNA for our memory care unit. You will plan, organize, and lead recreational and therapeutic activities for residents, aiming to enhance their quality of life and social engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Florida CNA certification.
• Experience in activities programming preferred but not required.
• Passion for working with older adults and diverse needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents/patients, considering individual interests and abilities.
• Provide hands-on assistance and support to residents during activities, ensuring safety, comfort, and enjoyment.
• Encourage resident participation and facilitate social interactions to promote community.
• Maintain records of participation and observations or changes in behavior or mood.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and social workers to integrate activity programs into the care plan.
• Adapt activities to accommodate diverse needs and limitations.
• Assist with procurement and organization of supplies, equipment, and materials.
• Communicate with residents, families, and team members to solicit feedback and promote engagement.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
• Adhere to regulations governing activities in long-term care facilities.
