Job summary

Valley Health seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our medical/surgical team. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, you perform routine personal care duties for patients and maintain a safe environment while reporting problems.

Education includes a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, with CNA registry in Virginia or West Virginia and BLS certification required. New hires may preceptor CNAs with experience.

Qualifications

• Must understand basic principles of human growth and development.
• Must be competent to interact with patients according to their age.
• Reliable means of phone communication with hospital.
• New hires must have Valley Health provided annual flu vaccination if employed in Long-Term Care clinical areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine personal care duties for patients.
• Maintain a safe environment and report problems.
• Support the mission and vision of Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center.
• May act as a preceptor in the orientation of new CNAs.
