Job summary

MaineGeneral Health’s CardioPulmonary Med/Surg unit on 1 West is seeking a Med/Surg CNA to provide patient care under RN supervision. The position is 30 hours per week in the day shift (7a–7p) with rotating weekends and holidays, on the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.

You will perform routine patient care, assist with basic needs, greet patients and visitors, and communicate changes to the nursing staff. A valid Maine CNA certificate and strong communication skills are required.

The Role

Med/Surg Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on 1 West Provides patient care under the supervision of an RN in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic CNA to join our team of highly skilled professionals on our fast-paced CardioPulmonary Med/Surg unit, 1 West, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. This position is 30 hours per week on the day shift (7a-7p), with rotating weekend and holiday requirements. You will work three 12-hour shifts one week and two 12-hour shifts the next.

The Work

• Performs basic patient care activities within the scope of practice.
• Assists patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Greets patients and visitors.
• Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
• Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.

Compensation Information

$19.65 - $34.39 The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
