Job summary

FutureCare in Baltimore, MD is offering a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training path designed to start your care career with hands-on learning and a clear pathway to GNA certification.

You’ll be paired with an experienced mentor, receive on-site training Monday–Thursday 9am–3:30pm, and progress through nursing staff supervision while you prepare for the GNA exam in Maryland. A competitive $15/hour training salary and comprehensive benefits follow successful completion.

Qualifications

• Able to pass reading and arithmetic assessment during pre-employment screenings.
• Complete an 8-week training course.
• Familiar with and proficient in using computers.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior healthcare experience is desirable.
• Must be able to train on site Monday-Thursday 9am-3:30pm as scheduled.
• Ability to interact with nursing staff, residents and family members professionally.

Responsibilities

• Respond timely to residents' call lights and offer support as needed.
• Assist residents with bathing, grooming, hygiene.
• Perform restorative procedures as instructed.
• Clean oxygen concentrators, feeding pumps, IV poles and wheelchairs.
• Assist with transferring residents to and from beds, chairs and wheelchairs.
• Assist with moving resident personal items during room changes.
• Make resident beds and handle linen according to infection control guidelines.
• Set up trays for residents who feed themselves.
• Practice infection control and standard precautions per FutureCare policies.

• Fill water pitchers and hand out trays during mealtime


• Practice infection control and standard precaution techniques as consistent with FutureCare’s policies and procedures


• Perform a variety of other duties while being trained and as assigned

• Ability to lift 50lbs and stand on your feet for at least 8 hours/day
