Job summary

CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Park Rapids, MN seeks a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) for our Emergency Room and ICU.

You will provide essential direct patient care under RN direction, supporting comfort, safety, and recovery in fast-paced settings. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, monitoring vital signs, aiding patient transport, and contributing to the plan of care as part of the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Minnesota required.
• BLS from the American Heart Association to be obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential direct patient care including ADLs, personal care, feeding, and comfort measures.
• Monitor and document vital signs and other patient data, reporting significant changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with patient mobility and transport, safely transferring and ambulating patients for examinations, procedures, and discharge.
• Support clinical procedures under RN direction, including basic wound care and specimen collection.
• Maintain an organized and safe Emergency Department environment, stocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to support rapid patient flow and safety.

• Assist with patient mobility and transport, safely transferring and ambulating patients, and preparing them for examinations, procedures, and discharge.
• Support clinical proceduresunder RN direction, including basic wound care, specimen collection, and assisting with application of medical devices.
• Maintain an organized and safe Emergency Department environment, including stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and ensuring unit readiness.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team, communicating patient needs, supporting rapid patient flow, and adhering to all safety and hospital policies.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Active Certified Nursing Assistant from the state of Minnesota
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) to be obtained within 30 Days

Preferred

• Experience in ER setting
