Job summary

CHI St. Joseph's Health of Park Rapids, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to join our Emergency Department and ICU teams.

In this role, you will deliver essential direct patient care under RN supervision, contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery for patients in critical moments. You will monitor vital signs, assist with ADLs and transport, support with basic wound care, and help maintain a safe, efficient ED environment while upholding our mission of

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Active Minnesota CNA certification required.
• BLS from AHA to be obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including ADLs, feeding and comfort.
• Monitor and document vital signs and other data, reporting changes.
• Assist with mobility and transport for examinations and discharge.
• Support procedures under RN direction, including basic wound care.
• Maintain a safe ED environment, stock supplies and ensure readiness.
• Collaborate with the health care team and follow safety policies.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in our dynamic Emergency Room and ICU, you will be a cornerstone of patient care, directly contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery by providing essential support under Registered Nurse direction. Your dedication will be vital in helping us deliver rapid, high-quality care to patients in their most crucial moments. Every day, you will deliver compassionate basic care, assist with patient transport, perform vital sign monitoring, and actively contribute to the patient's plan of care as a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, upholding the highest standards of conduct and patient well-being in a fast-paced environment. To be successful in this critical role, you will possess a dedicated spirit of service, strong communication skills, a meticulous approach to patient support, and an unwavering commitment to our mission of dignified, high-quality, and urgent healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential direct patient care including assisting with ADLs, personal care, feeding, and comfort measures, ensuring patient dignity and well-being.


• Monitor and document vital signs and other patient data (e.g., intake/output, weight), promptly reporting any significant changes to the nursing staff.


• Assist with patient mobility and transport, safely transferring and ambulating patients, and preparing them for examinations, procedures, and discharge.


• Support clinical procedures under RN direction, including basic wound care, specimen collection, and assisting with application of medical devices.


• Maintain an organized and safe Emergency Department environment, including stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and ensuring unit readiness.


• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team, communicating patient needs, supporting rapid patient flow, and adhering to all safety and hospital policies.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Active Certified Nursing Assistant from the state of Minnesota


• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) to be obtained within 30 Days

Preferred

• Experience in ER setting

Pay Range

$19.62 - $25.34 /hour
