Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a CNA to join the Hospice South team at Lakeland Hospital Niles. You will provide patient care under supervision, assist with daily activities, and document care within policy guidelines.

The role requires a Michigan CNA certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and adherence to licensing and safety standards. This position offers full-time hours with day shifts and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• State of Michigan approved CNA training course is required.
• CNA certification and ongoing compliance with licensing rules are required.
• Must obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with unit policies.
• Assist with direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.
• Document care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.
• Maintain patients’ environment/work area/equipment, and report any equipment malfunctions.
• Complete and maintain required CNA educational hours.
• Participate in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.

Job Summary

As a member of the nursing team with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount. You'll be responsible for the care of our patients according to their individual plans, unit routines, and hospital policies. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Essential Functions

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.

• Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.

• Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.

• Maintains patients’ environment/work area/equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.

• Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours.

• Participation in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.

• CRT-Nursing Assistant - Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Community and Health Systems Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Community and Health Systems UPON HIRE except WITHIN 90 DAYS RNCs (Cedar, Kentridge, Leffingwell Reed City, Greenville, Pine Ridge) Lakeland 120 days Upon Hire required

• LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Hospice, Caring Circle Hospice except Hanson Hospice Center, Greenville/Reed City CNAs who transport patients off-site. Upon Hire required

• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association excluding Hospice (required for Hanson Hospice Center) 90 Days required Or

• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross excluding Hospice (required for Hanson Hospice Center) 90 Days required
