Job summary

GOEBEL FIXTURE COMPANY is seeking a compassionate, team‑oriented caregiver for our boutique assisted living home in Fulton, MD. You will administer medications, monitor residents, and support daily living activities with dignity.

Join a 1:4 staffing model focused on person‑centered care. The role offers a stable three‑shift, 36‑hour week schedule, competitive pay, and robust benefits including health insurance and retirement planning.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland CNA license and CMT certification in good standing.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• TB test results negative (PPD or QuantiFERON).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications in accordance with state regulations and orders.
• Maintain MAR and manage medication inventory/refills.
• Monitor for adverse reactions or changes in client response to medications.
• Assist residents with ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming, eating) with dignity per care plans.
• Support safe transfers, mobility, and positioning with lifts or devices.
• Foster engaging, meaningful activities and companionship with residents.
• Participate in shift handoffs with clear charting to ensure seamless care.

Core Responsibilities

• Safe Administration: Prepare, administer, and document oral, topical, and inhalant medications in strict accordance with state regulations and physician orders.
• MAR Management: Maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MAR) and manage medication inventory/refills.
• Side Effect Monitoring: Observe and report any adverse reactions or changes in client response to medications.

Person-Centered Care & Clinical Support

• Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Assist residents with dignity and respect during bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating according to individual care plans [Indeed].
• Mobility Assistance: Support safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning using appropriate mechanical lifts or assistive devices [Indeed].
• Health Monitoring: Take and record vital signs, monitor food/fluid intake, and observe changes in physical or cognitive health [Indeed].
• Engagement & Companionship: Build genuine relationships with residents, engaging them in meaningful conversation, hobbies, and social activities [All Care HHA].

Collaborative & Shared Home Duties

• Cross-Functional Teamwork: Actively support the household flow by assisting with light cleaning, organizing common spaces, or helping serve meals when the housekeeping or culinary staff need a hand.
• Community Dining Support: Help foster a family-style dining experience by encouraging residents during meals and ensuring a warm, inviting atmosphere.
• Communication: Participate in shift huddles and complete accurate charting to ensure seamless care handoffs within our small team.

Requirements

Position Requirements

• Licensing: Active Maryland CNA license AND CMT certification in good standing.
• Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Health Screenings: Valid, negative TB test results (PPD or QuantiFERON gold).
• Background Check: Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
• Experience: Experience in assisted living, memory care, or private home care is preferred, but a team-first attitude is our priority.
• Mindset: A strong team-player attitude with a willingness to jump in and assist with any task that keeps the household running smoothly.
