Job summary

Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, GA is seeking a Per Diem CNA to provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision of Charge Nurse, Department Director, and Chief Nursing Officer.

The role involves assisting adolescents to geriatric patients with activities of daily living, ensuring a safe environment, and participating in infection control practices. Strong English communication and basic clinical skills are required; on-the-job training may be provided.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CNA certification preferred.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Experience: Preferred, but not required. May obtain on the job.
  • Language: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Clinical Skills: Basic patient care skills including; but not limited to weights, baths, and vital signs.

  • Willingly accepts shifts on Medical, Specialty, and advanced care Units to meet the scheduling needs of the organization.
  • Follows infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
  • Performs independently, within department's policies and procedures, referring universal problems to RN Charge Nurse or Department Director.
  • Accountable for following scheduled policies and adheres to posted work schedule.
  • Arrives to work on time, dressed appropriately.
  • Wears Identification Badge while on duty.
  • Answers call lights in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Keeps Charge Nurse/Department Director informed.

Under the supervision of Charge Nurse, Department Director, and Chief Nursing Officer, provides direct and indirect patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to acutely ill patients, and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff, and medical staff. Participates in performance improvement activities.


Qualifications

Minimal Qualifications


  • Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Certified Nursing Assistant Certification preferred

    • Current BCLS certification

Physical/Mental Demands

Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk, and bend intermittently throughout the work day. Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.


Must possess sigh/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable the applicant to adequately fulfill the requirements of this position.


Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
